The Diabetes Technology Society Error Grid and Trend Accuracy Matrix for Glucose Monitors
Description: This publication explores how to measure and interpret the clinical accuracy of blood glucose monitors (BGMs) and continuous glucose monitors (CGMs). It introduces the DTS Error Grid for assessing point accuracy and a Trend Accuracy Matrix for evaluating CGM trend indicators. The study investigates the relationship between clinical accuracy (percent of readings in low-risk zones) and analytical accuracy (MARD), aiming to provide a modern, standardized, and user-friendly way to assess glucose monitoring devices for both clinicians and device developers.
